Cafe Dot Comic series is a small project I took on to continue my practice and execution of comic-making. It belongs to a Discord community that aims to foster artists and provide them with a safe space away from algorithms to share their art and make friends. Currently, Cafe Dot is a wordless comic, with hopes of adding some text in the future. It centers around a family of cats who run a cafe and the happenings within its walls.
Butterknight is the story of two fates intertwined by destiny. I considered telling it as a webcomic, but it taught me the dos and don’ts of making a comic and what I should do better in the future. I’m excited to return to this project!
Prototype PROCESS
From ideation to final rendering, it’s fun to experiment and mix different ideas together. This short prototype was an attempt to blend a squarish world like Minecraft and see how it would work as a comic! I was really happy with the result!
I also experimented with a more rural setting, seeing how I could capture the rustic detail with pixel-ish lines!
Lastly, these are older tests that were inspired by games I was playing or moments that I had while playing. It goes to show how moments in games can inspire art!
